There has been a whole hell of a lot of changes in Radios and TVs since 1948. Nowadays, it hardly pays to repair one if it breaks. You can buy a new one for less than the cost of repair, most of the time.

manufacturing processes and procedures are extremely different. They seldom break. The integrated circuits in them are soldered in using techniques unknown even 15 years ago.

So even if you could buy replacement integrated circuits, it is damn near impossible to replace it in the Radio or TV.

And the circuts cost almost as much as the entire set.

Do I trust preachers?? Not hardly. There are additional reasons for my distrust...but that was the first instance.

Well, it's a good thing you weren't a Catholic. It could have been a worse first instance.

It begs the question, "Do the clergy do more than lay people?"
