7 days (one week) makes sense to me. They are a bit annoying, imo, but I like the concept.

Mods can always re-stick them if the info it still relevent, correct?

Re: I would really like to have the ability to highlight a post that would NOT result in a sticky note...

applied by the mod/assistant only,

Limit of 3 is fine...

Many on my board would prefer this approach to the sticky notes

And besides which, I would be less annoyed about losing the ability to change my font/color, if you would give me three highlighters, please...lol

and yes, this is a reiteration of a prior request...

thanks guys

Honestly, I don't like that at all. I see your argument that permanent items should be in the iBox, but seriously, do you read the iBoxes? Most iBoxes are an abomination to be scrolled by or closed as quickly as possible (except for the really nice ones and you know who you are).

Some sticky post topics are relevant for a day, some for a week and some forever. Rather than put a time limit and require mods to constantly restick relevant items, mods should be responsible for cycling stickies as necessary.

Making everyone happy won't happen. I cover this in Chapter 3 of my book ( http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=33647272 ). I'd rather see a standard implementation of the sticky post concept.

I also think 10 days is a wee bit long. I say make it three. If you haven't gotten your point across by then you never will.

PS Dan I stole, UH borrowed, your graphic. Sorry, I mean, THANKS!!!

Sometimes the info IN the sticky note may be self-updating such as a chart, a link to a company's website (which updates on its own), etc. Or a reminder of board rules.

I don't think IHUB admin should be in charge of setting a timeframe of what they personally deem as "old news" -- that's best left to the moderators.

One bug -- ignored users' sticky notes are still showing up.
