We have 3 HP laptops in our house and they have been very good. All are less than one year old and still under warranty.

Recently we did have a problem with one of them. I did spend 20 or 30 minutes on the phone with them but once they were convinced that it was a warranty issue they promptly Fed Ex'd me a return box with packing and a prepaid return sticker. I sent it to them and they promptly fixed it and returned it.

I'm very satisfied with HP (so far anyway).
