Regardless of what happens with Onev in the "near future", whether longs like Veno are correct or critics like SBB and SteveP are right, in my opinion, it is unconscionable for a CEO of a public company, but especially one that failed miserably for the past 8+ years, to claim that he deserves his outrageous compensation package and sales commission structure, citing industry practices, when the company has little generated revenue, is on life support and the share price is hovering at $.001 with 1 billion plus shares outstanding. That's nonsense! As a shareholder, I believe CEO should be compensated fairly only when he or she performs! I don't see performance to date that warrants any such remuneration. In fact, as an act of good faith, to share pain with the shareholders, I believe he should have cut his pay substantially and given up his sales commission structure until such time as the company is in better financial shape. At the very least, consider purchasing shares personally while it is at current levels to show confidence in his company's prospects.
In the last CC, I believe Dean said that he thought Telmex, MTNL and MID were going to happen in 2008. We shall see. He also seems to imply that there are many things in the pipeline waiting to mature. But the point is, it hasn't happened yet. Receiving excessive compensation package in anticipation of performance is ridiculous.
