My guess is that we will continue to intra-day games by the MMs. As I understood it (please correct me if I'm wrong), the new rules really center around "failures to deliver". MMs can still NSS and have 3 days to cover. I believe the new rule gives ammunition to ensure they do this. Overall, it is a great thing that should get rid of criminal activity on hmgp trading as well as many other stocks.
But my guess is that we'll still see manipulation, but not nearly the number of airshares being fed into the market if the MMs truly intend to cover those positions in 3 days. It may take a little bit of a fight to get them to stop. Maybe they'll need a few handslaps first. I don't know. Maybe we won't see any change in behavior here for 3 days while they play with it more.
time will tell??? Kelsey is right though, the more the SEC heres about it the more likely they are to investigate it.
