Hi RFH, Still plenty of Divi trees around. The folks we travelled with have been going there since about the same time you first visited the Island. Having them as "tour guides" helped. They told us what was there back then and what's new since.
There's a pipeline from the shore of Venezuela to Aruba. It brings the crude oil in to the big refinery at the south end of the island. A deep water harbor is where the tankers line up for a big drink.
Every day there were 1 to 3 cruise ships in just past sunrise. "Bring 'em in, fleece 'em, ship 'em out" seems to be the motto!
