Re: -35% vWave

Thanks minstrlman

The UK's All-Share dividend yield is at a relative historic high of 5.7%. However yields of 6%, or indeed 8% (and even 12% during the 1970's) have occurred and will likely reoccur at some point in time. This could be one such time, no one knows for sure, and if so then a yield of 8% would indicate a further 5.7/8 = 28.75% further potential downside for stock prices.

VL would have you move 100% all-in with 35% of that in long doubles at the present time. At that rate I would suspect after a further 30% fall in stock prices they would have you 100% in long-doubles. Potentially a strong play, but just too hot for me personally.

Best. Clive.

Thanks MM, Re: v-Wave for this week..............

I guess my minus 5% was a bit conservative!!!

Here's what it looks like on Barron's market breadth chart:

Sometimes it's hard to tell if the markets are Kaput or if they're Kaputulating!

So, who's going on margin??? :-)

Best regards, Tom

Hi Jerry, Re: v-Wave......................

Can't wait to see what the graph looks like!

I remember the last fist fight I was in as a teen. Unfortunately it was with someone that out weighed me by approx. 50 lbs. (don't know what that is in Stones, but it's just short of 23 kg). I kept out of his way for quite a while and managed to bloody his nose before he tagged me on the temple. I remember holding onto the lawn with both hands to try to stop the world from spinning. Didn't work!

That's sort of what the markets felt like last week.

Some of the spectators were yelling "Stay Down!!" and some were yelling "Get UP!!!" I got up and got knocked down again.

Let's hope the market clears its head better than I did 40 years ago!

Best regards, Tom
