They tested on small scale to see if process worked. The system will be built to handle large quantities. So, they are confident the process works.

Don't know about you, but I wouldn't need a piece of equipment to prove a chemical/biological process works. Try taking a dropper of sulfuric acid, put it in your eye and then tell me if I need a contraption to prove that stuff will melt a crap load of eye balls.
