spencer - Compare today's price of oil, natural gas and coal to prices of several years ago... Several hundred percent increases... Certainly that did not make existing traditional energy producers economically unfeasible...

As the cost of the input prices rise the price of the electricity rises... This is simple market economics at work...

Biomass energy will be in no worse a competitive position than oil or natural gas or coal (all of which are NOT renewable energy sources unlike biomass which IS a renewable energy source)... In fact, as a renewable resource biomass will be in a BETTER competitive position...
