>Why investors allow this kind of irresponsible spending is beyond me.<

The blame rests on GTC’s insular BoD, IMHO.

Although the BoD has become somewhat less insular over time, it still includes four directors who have served since the early 1990’s and are unlikely to question the path charted by management. These four directors plus Cox and Béchon constitute a majority of the eleven-member board (#msg-28839475).

I do not agree with your statement. By the time we learned that GTC is on its own to deliver a proof a concept of their cutting edge technique. That costs (us) a lot of money, agreed. However, they delivered the proof of concept and in a few years this company can be a multibillion company. The actual cashburn will be peanuts by then and a formidable investment for all investors. But you need vision to look at this stock in that way. Form the beginning of my investment, whom were quite humble, I believed in GTC and their unique technique. Now, we are sailing rough seas, the credit crunch disrupted the financial situation, but GTC makes still deals and is alive and kicking. Cox maybe not the favourite CEO for investors, including me, but in bringing this company at this point is more then a great job. To be continued. Go on Cox, bring us to the promised land.
