Babel fish's version
Petrobra's closes contract for construction of the P-62
Source: Tribune of Norte (RN)
Enclosed in the site in 05/06/2008
Petrobra's closed contract with the Mauá shipyard for the construction, in Brazil, of the P-62 platform, that goes to be destined to the field of Hogfish, in the Basin De Campos. The agreement was announced yesterday by the financial director of the state one, Almir Barbassa. In the total, the company must more contract this year five platforms of production destined only to the Basin De Campos, that must approximately demand investments of US$ 3,2 billion, according to calculations of the market.

The P-62 must leave for US$ 1,2 billion, according to projections of specialists. Barbassa did not want to comment the value, alleging not to have this level of knowledge on the project, that already was white of controversy inside of the state one. The P-62 is one clone of the P-54, also constructed for the Mauá, at the time controlled for the Jurong shipyard, of Cingapura.

Part of the technician of the company, however, defended a freightage in the international market. The idea to construct in Brazil, however, gained force with pressure of the Union of the Metallurgist of Niterói, that alleges that the lack of new constructions in the Country could provoke the resignation of two a thousand workers of the Mauá. The accomplishment of the workmanship arrived to be treated in some meetings carried through between the technician of the company, metallurgist and until members of the government of the River, that had tried to impose to Petrobra's the construction in domestic territory. According to sources, the decision for constructing in the Mauá if gave because the price fell of initials US$ 1,4 billion for US$ 1,2 billion, value that the unit would cost if it was constructed and chartered outside of the Country.

The option for the clonagem of platforms has as objective to speed the construction of these units, to fulfill its goal of growth of the production. This is possible because it has a breach in the legislation that foresees the dismissal of licitation in the case of the construction of an accurately equal unit to another one. In the case of the P-62, however, the processing capacity will be of 100 a thousand barrels per day, before 180 a thousand barrels per day of the P-54, that served of model. Petrobra's must more place in licitation at least three platforms of production in the next months, evaluated in approximately US$ 3 billion in the market.

"The first one must be the P-58, projected for the field of Blue Whale, in the north of the Basin De Campos. Calculated around US$ 1,2 billion for the market, the unit will be disputed by the companies Flotec, SBM and Modec. The two too much units, P-61 and P-63, will be bid on together, and are evaluated around US$ 1,8 billion in the total. One is about a system in set, that goes to operate in the Pope-Land field, in the south of the Basin De Campos. One of the units is of type FPSO (ship-platform that produces and stores oil) and to another one of type TLWP (that it does not store, but makes perforations in elapsing of the production process)."
