Scutum, Sure, when the PPS goes up, sell sufficient shares to break even on your investment. The worst you can do then is break even, no matter what happens later to the PPS. Then hold the rest of your shares in case the PPS continues to increase.

It's a good strategy if you aren't sure the PPS will move even higher but you're willing to take a chance it will. You're protected from taking a loss on the stock and can potentially make some nice cash if the PPS does move higher.

It's called "playing with freebies", or "playing with free shares."
