Jim Roger has been saying this stuff for years now...like a broken record...but one worth listening to because he has been very right regarding commodities, weakening dollar, he even predicted the fannie and freddie train wreck years ago when noone knew who/what these institutions are. The one interesting trivia of this latest bloomberg tirade was that he is buying airline stocks!!...are you serious!!...i cant think of a more capital, labour, fuel intensive industry....knowing Jim Rogers he'll somehow make money out of it.
Is anyone looking at zinc or nickel or sugar?....sugar is interesting....brazil is producing lots of sugar, but much of it going to ethanol...makes sense at current crude price...but if sugar price rises would they be able to divert production away from ethanol back to sugar?...i see no reason why not...thus is brazil in the box seat pointing their sugar at whatever makes more money at the time (food or fuel)...thus controlling both markets from the supply end....or will 1.2 billion chinese sucking on soda pop push the price of sugar up regardless?
