'Chuck' Schwab

I doubt that 'Chuck' or anyone else is taking that for granted, and Chuck's decision to add Credit Suisse Americas/United States Equity Research reports to their content has nothing to do with InterDigital who Credit Suisse (Americas) doesn't cover, although Charles Schwab does rate and abstract IDCC (InterDigital).
One comment in the CS report of possible interest to those that follow InterDigital, since there has been conjecture and discussion on this subject here is this one:
Infineon Expanding Its Wireless Baseband And Transceiver Position: Is LG next? Infineon has officially stated that its third HSDPA design win, which is expected to start ramping at the end of 2008, is with one of its existing customers. We believe that this customer could be LG, given that Nokia has already selected STMicroelectronics as a dual source for its HSDPA platform. (Motorola announced that it will start sourcing from Texas Instruments and Qualcomm.) In the meantime, Texas Instruments and STMicroelectronics remain the two main suppliers into the EMP platform. This leaves only LG as a potential tier-one customer, or Panasonic as a potential tier-two customer. Given that Infineon is already designed into Samsung, we would argue that it stands a good chance of gaining a win at LG as well. Although there are no products available in the market for us to perform a teardown analysis and present a convincing view on the quality of Infineon’s solution, the point we are trying to make is that multiple design wins at top-tier customers, such as Samsung, Apple, and LG, give us a very good reason to believe that Infineon’s 3G solution is credible from a quality standpoint.
