God made the first in the garden.
Gen 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
Their kids are recorded next:
Gen 4:3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
Gen 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
Gen 4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
Gen 4:6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
Gen 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
A reverse sacrifice was made here with Noah:
Gen 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Gen 6:14 ¶ Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
Gen 6:21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
He and his family were saved upon "the alter/wood" within. And actually commanded to eat of the food there in also.
You can see that early off, sacrifice included personal living and also of substance. Different callings for specific reasons. ALL shadows of things to come later on. Namely- the cross and God the Sons' final sacrifice for all mankind made available.
This all preluded Abrahams time.
