Gen 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering

Much happened between Abel and Abraham that is not canonized.
The first sacrifice was by God, that He made clothing if skins(animal) to cover their shame. Next recorded was Abel's. Who knows how much from then to Abraham? I know not:)
