Poet,

I'd like to see a verdict called "Guilty and Insane", where the person is found guilty of the crime but it's acknowledged that they were nuts when they did it and instead of spending life in prison, they spend life in a locked psychiatric unit. With no possibility of parole.

Other than providing jobs for people that are too ignorant to have a real job, I don't believe in "prisons".

Jails are OK.

Like the one joemonkey spends a lot of his time in.

If you commit a minor crime, you spend some jail time.

If someone has committed a crime that was serious enough to warrant "life in prison" why should we have to support them?

If they are not productive members of society, they are a drain.

Do you realize what it costs us to imprison a person for life?

We could build them a mansion and provide them servants.

Come to think of it, that is what we ARE doing.

Have fun,
Phil

Poet

Why burden society with these types? There is nothing productive forthcoming, nothing usable, nothing gained but expense...and what about all the people that have to deal with her the rest of their lives?
