On June 19, 2008, Southern Copper Corporation (“the Company”) issued a press release announcing that the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors approved a three-for-one stock split of the Company’s common stock, par value $0.01 per share, to be effected in the form of a two-for-one stock dividend, with holders of record on June 30, 2008 receiving two additional shares of common stock for each share owned. The additional shares will be distributed on July 10, 2008. A copy of the Company’s press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
