You read the article - it would be a minimum of 7 years before the oil/gas on the shelf could be brought online. By the end of 7 years, we could have new sources in place - and we should have.

I saw something on CNN today where the Republicans are supposedly going to attempt to introduce fuel independence bills on a dialy basis over the next threee months. Maybe they can be like a boxer with a good body punch and wear down those who do not want us to become fuel independent!
