So happy for you that you found a church where a Pastor still understands he is to KNOW his sheep! How can a Pastor be a Shepard if he doesn't know his flock? You can't Pastor a flock that is only a number!

One night in a church service a young woman felt the tug of God at her heart. She responded to God's call and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. The young woman had had a very rough past, involving alcohol, drugs, and prostitution.
But, the change in her was evident. As time went on she became a faithful member of the church. She eventually became involved in the ministry, teaching young children.

After a while, this faithful young woman caught the eye, and heart, of the pastor's son. The relationship grew and they began to make wedding plans and this is when the problems began. You see, about half of the church membership did not think that a woman with a past such as hers was a suitable mate for a pastor's son.

The church began to argue and fight about the matter. Then, they decided to have a meeting. As the people made their arguments and tensions increased, the meeting was getting completely out of hand. The young woman became very upset about all the things being brought up about her past. The pastor's son could not bear the pain it was causing his young, faithful wife-to-be. As she began to cry, the pastor's son stood to speak.

"I challenge everyone of you to think carefully about what is happening here tonight. It really is NOT my fiancé's past that is on trial here. What all of you actually are questioning is the ability of the blood of Jesus to wash away sin. Today you have put the blood of Jesus on trial. So, what is your verdict? Does the blood of Christ wash away sin?......or not?" Tears welled up in the eyes of every Christian in the auditorium. The whole church began to weep as they realized that they really had been slandering the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Too often, even as Christians, we bring up the past and use it as a weapon against our brothers and sisters, or even against ourselves. Forgiveness is a very foundational part of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. If the blood of Jesus could not cleanse the soul of every single person, then all of us would be in a lot of trouble. As the old hymn says, "What can wash away my sins? NOTHING, but the blood of Jesus." End of case!!!

As I have wrote about on here more than a few times...Where i grew up in east tennessee these type of holier than thou preachers would have lasted about as long as it would have taken the good folks to have packed his suit case for him and sent him packing. And for the most part they are still that way but im sure down around Knoxville and up around the tri-cities there are churches / preachers that are this way to some degree as A FEW of these big churches have came about.

1st of all ...how can a preacher with this type of attitude keep a church....thats the peoples fault.
2nd...why would people step foot in a church like that for a second or third time...thats the preachers fault.

I realize we can worship anywhere...as we know...worship is suppose to be about God...Giving thanks and praise to almighty God....not what we can and do get out of the worship time.....But today....if people can go in and sit down and sing their little hearts out to their favorite tunes and hear the prosperity message spoon feed to them...and the good fortune and well being crap handed out to them...they are good to go for the week...be it that God was given the praise and glory or not!

Where is the body of Christ in these type of Churches when the shepard dont and wont tend to his / her flock...To many buildings filled with people playing church this day and time!

And my friend...dont ever be sorry about venting on here....we are all just regular folks here at the Bible board and the Christian Rock Cafe...Most of us have lived a earthly hell for many years until we finally reached out to Jesus...and many here still have burdens here from health or whatever...you know...the kinds of stuff that real born-again folks deal with in life....We dont get up here and put our rose colored glasses on every morning....We love the Lord...we give him the praise and glory...and we stand up for what we think is right as the Holy Spirit leads us....Say what you mean and mean what you say....I believe any and all witness and testimony and venting that we can do here just lets other folks know that we are people / humans just like everyone else...we have our problems and pain and sickness just like the rest of the world...the only and big difference....We have Jesus to pull us through and sustain us!

Have a blessed day my friend and im glad you found your way
here......Onward Christian Soldier!

Yes i get wound up a "LITTLE" sometimes...LOL
Heres some good east tennessee preaching for ya!

No, I'm glad you vented. I try to get on this board at least once a day because of Excel, Tenac, and even ole Plugger there. I'm not sure they realize the Lord uses them to speak to me in a personal way. Well, I have to include precious life, happy dog and some others too. Sometimes the Holy Spirit puts things on your minds to say or share and God knows who needs to hear it, we don't. Many times I got on here and what was being said just fit to what I was going through.
The way I figure it, maybe someone was in a similar situation and thought they were alone in dealing with it. That is why this board is so important. We all come from different walks of life, different congregations, but we all have Jesus Christ and we all make up the whole body of Christ with our different talents. We need to vent. We need to come together and openly discuss our feelings. Sometimes what we may be thinking isn't quite Godly or according to scripture and I trust everyone that posts here to help back on the right track should I wander off course, lol.
