Buying PXD right now doesn't make a lick of sense, the stock is already trading at a premium. I doubt Boone will add an additional premium to the stock at the current price. The time to buy was back in march. There are rumors he may be looking at EPEX, but they are Just Rumors. And EPEX is actively seeking a buyer! I tend to believe that deal is better possibility. There is no way a smart man like Boone Pickens is going to set foot into the legal quagmire created by this lawsuit until it has been resolved. The merchandise is currently "tainted" by this lawsuit, I don't see banks running to finance the deal either, the risk of being involved in the suit are just too high.
