Forget the textbooks. They've distorted history to the point of fiction. We're raising a generation who know nothing of the lessons of history. Our system tries to teach respect and tolerance as fundamental Islamists teach their children we are demons and pigs.

what do you expect? you're talking about an education system in the US that is slowly and surely re-injecting the teaching of creationism back into *biology* classes. it is as wrong to leave the lengthy and well-documented history of islamic slavery out of the classroom as it is to downplay, say, the Trail of Tears.

there is nothing to be gained by hiding from history.
