if you have any children beware: the american textbook companies are rumored to be saudi controlled.

the one my school used spends chapters describing the civilizing effect of the ottoman empire and how it was so good to be a slave and how harems are sanctuaries for women.

another had to revise its historical content: it stated that moslems were the first to sail to america and became algonquin indians.

the current algonquin indian chief made them change it, but only after the book had been used in 1200 or so schools for a year.

and no where in all the chapters about slavery is there a single mention of the role of islam in world wide slavery between 1500 and 1960.

its funny how the movies of my childhood were more historically correct than the current political correctness: at least they referred and had arab slave traders
