Re: If Intel can buy back more than ~60-80M shares per year, they will beat their own employee compensation rate.

Please note that during the first quarter of 2008 Intel distributed 132 million shares as bonuses. That is 528 million shares per year. If the cost of the shares will increase to $30 Intel will have to pay 15.84 billion dollars per year. This is twice their “almost $7B profit in the most recent year”.

With RSUs there is no strike price. They are grant of shares of stock, period. If you get a RSU of x shares, on Apr 1st 2008, they vest equally over 4 years. (i.e x/4 on 4/1/09, x/4 on 4/1/10, etc.)
