Iignore analysts at this point in the market's history. There was a time a few years ago when an anayst's rave would trigger a good rise in a stock (I'm thinking AMZN here) that was eminently tradeable. It's not the case right now though.
I have noticed that too. Almost every time you see an analyst on Bloomberg issuing a buy on a stock, that stock is almost always near resistance and often nearing a 52 week high. I try to buy lows, not highs myself. Maybe someone should put the theory to a test. Start a board that watches the analysts ratings and when an analyst comes out with a new buy, start a mock short position at the end of that day. Might be interesting to see if that strategy would make a profit.
