Update-locations---very good news.
I had great timing on this trip. When I
got to Gus Thomasson location the front door
was wide open and two workers were in the
stock room (S.K. Electric). I went inside
the front door and toward the stock room.
Guess who popped up! It was the general
contractor. I told him that I am a
stockholder; and he thought I was a big
shot. He was very friendly and apologetic
on the slowness of progress. Said he was
working as hard as he could and working on
two different sites, ours and somebody elses.
He gave me more information then what I asked
for in the matter of completion--and in detail.
I asked him if the floors were last, he said yes.
Then he gave me the royal tour of the store. Showed
me the new roller door in the stock room, the lunch
room, restroom, offices....etc.
So after the tour, he told me the store would be
completed for move in--not next thursday but the
thursday after next week, April 10th.
OK now, here comes a good part. As I said, this
guy is very friendly (good-old-boy type). HE
OFFERED HIS NAME AND PHONE NUMBER AND SAID TO CALL
HIM ANY TIME.
Bob Pelham--Contracting--( I removed his number).His dad
died a few months ago and he took over the business.
So now you have his number. And if you're aching
to know whatever, then give him a call. Very nice fellow.
And oh yes. No change at Lakeland. It's still got
the iron curtain over the windows like the Iron
Curtain across middle Europe after WW2.
