Thanks Bruce for posting the article. I sent this email to the author, David Brooks.

Hi Mr. Brooks, I want to compliment you on your article on Dr. Ze'ev Hed, which we read online today thanks to Bruce Thompson posting it. You painted a good picture of the scientific side of our online friend, and we were lucky to learn a tiny bit more about him through his wife Urszula's comments.
There was so much more to the man than that scientific side though, that really overshadows his scientific accomplishments. The "personal finance" forum you mention in your article was in fact a forum for stock traders, who exchange ideas throughout the day on buying and selling securities. Dr. Hed was without a doubt the BEST stock trader on the planet, bar none. Not only would he make successful money winning trades all day long, but he would post his entries and exits in his positions, so that other traders could see what he was doing, and in a lot of cases, profit from his genius.
If you can imagine what it would be like to have 1200 people mark your online profile as special, and follow what you said every day, that is the respect that Ze'ev generated. Often he would do all this trading and commenting while saying he had to break for a short teleconference having to do with his inventions, patents or consulting. He often seemed to us to be multiple people, as we could not imagine one person doing all these things in multi-tasking mode.
His generosity, kindness, sense of humor and sharing were what I would describe as legendary. We are lucky individuals to have come in contact with a person we shall never forget. He was my mentor, without even knowing it, and I'm sure he was to countless others.
Regards to you on your article.
