F6, Yes, Obviously some founders were active before 1934, but everything I find says the Amer. Lib. League was formed in 1934. (If you have something showing it different please post it.) As far as them being Democrats, yes many of the Coup plotters were Democrats as were members of the later League. The fact that they may have switched parties later in 1936 does not change the fact that they were once Democrats. From what I am reading the Amer. Lib, League itself was not involved in the coup plot, but some of its members were.
