Why should Nokia get a volume discount? IDCC is not a manufacturing company selling widgets to the manufacturers where volume production results in lower costs. They are selling technology and they shouldn't get any better rate than any other company otherwise the rates on not FRANDly to the smaller producers IMO. I know that IDCC always gives volume discounts but I don't really understand why they should get them. It should be like Q, everyone, or almost everyone, pays the same rate regardless.

mschere, I agree. There are plenty of agreements that can be brought as evidence that the rate IDCC is asking is FRAND. Of course, NOK, as the big boy on the block, will say that they should get a volume discount based on their sales, and that is why they think they should get a lower rate.
