"In the end, some guys use, some guys don't. But the idea that there are some guys who do the stuff, but talk about it only once or twice in a lifetime, is preposterous."

It might be preposterous to you but that doesn't mean it's not true. Maybe they have a different line of thinking. They know they are doing something illegal so they don't go around telling others. It's to project themselves & the other person both.

In Knoblauch's sworn testimony he stated he never talked to others about his HGH use. Why is it so hard to believe that athletes don't go around talking about using PED? I sure as he11 wouldn't if I was using them.

I haven't been following this thread so maybe you can tell me..do you believe Clemens or McNamee? Do you think Clemens used PED? TIA

Thanks for your perspective. You've spent a lot of time on this subject and your testimony here in this post should give people quite a few reasons why.

Interesting post, langostino.

Doesn't it just make you want to go back to the coaches at each level and ask them if it was worth it pushing the team so hard and making them go to the measures they did? Obviously some of the coaches in college never heard of working smarter, not harder, is sometimes the best thing. I'm sure most colleges have the testosterone, macho-man environment still running rampant in their athletic systems. Of course, I'm sure not many coaches or athletic directors really want to change that anyways. I guess some will do whatever it takes to win no matter what the cost is to the athlete.

My son didn't play college ball but he did play high school ball and at the same time he played in two other leagues.

Needless to say with just all the practices alone, he always had shoulder pain.

Every player had the necessary equipment in their bag, ie glove, bat, batting gloves, cleats and most important of all was a large bottle of Advil for the pain.

I bet there was more than just Advil taken for the pain and one of these days I will ask him about it.

He and at least four or five of his buddies have had shoulder surgery since they graduated from high school.
