I am not so sure this is an advantage for AMD. AMD seemed to finally be making ground against intels old marketing strategy. Intel is trying to change the focus of the customer becuase they are starting to loose on speed.

Keith: This is exactly what AMD has propagated for years. They will be delighted that INTEL is finally forced to follow there as well. As I said, great news. AMD´s products have sold for way too long at far below their actual value, and customers never knew. This should help a great deal.

That's overly optimistic, IMO. I would be very cautious about awaking the "sleeping giant". Intel has lost it on occasion (and I am not suggesting this is true at this time, quite the contrary) and the "awakening" seems to be a lasting thing. If indeed, AMD has pointed out some ideas that work, you can bet that Intel will benefit more from their implementation than AMD. It's not nice to fool with mother nature.
