#29092 RE: wbmw #29090

More importantly it seems that the 330 and the 530 have almost the same clockspeed. How can that be accurate? Do the last do digits basically give us relative performance within a series of cpus and the first digit gives us relative performance between series? How can we tell what the performance of a 350 is versus a 530 for example?

wbmw,

I don't see Pentium-M Banias there, only Celeron-M Banias. I wonder what model number Intel would assign to that chip.

The model numbers are totally inconsistent. Based on that info, a P4 Celeron 2.66 is equivalent to an 800 FSB Prescott 3.0 GHz.

What a joke!

Its clear Intel wants to hide their performance because it is no longer competitive.

The Celeron P4 series is VASTLY overrated, the Celeron M series is vastly UNDERRATED, and the Pentium M series is somewhat OVERRATED compared to Prescott.

All we can figure out from these ratings is that if the last 2 digits are about 50, its the fastest chip within that series, but its rating has nothing to do with chips from other series.
