I didn't know DeMark did a daily range projection!

Or is that something you derived from a DeMark mathematical formula?

BTW, we've started a NAZWAG over here. I think it's too late to enter today, but I'd love to see you participate (so I can shadow each of your picks -gg)

Hi TLC,

COMP missed:
projected L by +9
projected H by +14

Deviation from projection = +25.

Today was quite a bit higher than projected, although quite a bit would be better if reduced to a variable then deviation from projection could be backtested to find out where today lands in terms of previous deviations. Was today's deviation large enough to be a reversal day or is it a selling opportunity... historically speaking... after all past data's been considered.

I could go on but it's late and I'm tired. I will say a bit more though. I WANT THAT ALGORITHM! ; ) If you check SI for a thread called Predictions + Projections you'll see I'm running somewhat of a parallel system. It's different than your model, but I'd like to adopt some of your rules and strategy by the time mine is completed. It's still in the early stage of development and just got pushed aside for now while I finish up some other priorities.

For those that don't know I'm only interested in code. Everything I do is reduced to variables. Even when other trader's speak in english I'm thinking in terms of how to model what they're doing.

Back to your projection model. I have a couple Demark books but not sure it's the 1 you recommended to me. I'll get serious and check my notes so there's no need for you to rehash what you've already explained. I'll work up something from the book and we can compare notes. Key to the method lies in how to utilize the disparity between the projection and acutal price. That' the challenging part. I'll share what I know except for a few things that were a gift from another trader since those are his proprietary rules and not mine to share.

It will be a week before I can get to this, but it was the first post I read on the thread that grabbed my attention. Meanwhile I hope to find some other ideas here that I can connect with and have plenty of my own ideas to offer and I'm only asking for sincere interest in the ideas I offer so that I can benefit by the feedback.

Best regards, MM

Testing Tom DeMark's Daily Range Projection I came up with different results than you. Please double check this so I know if I translated it correctly.

For 1/28/02 you have:
H 1945
L 1916

For 1/28/02 I have:
H 1959
L 1930

The data from 1/25/02 I used is:
O 1929.15
H 1951.79
L 1923.06
C 1937.7
