Interesting piece on the FTL distribution,
"FTL HK has exerted substantial effort preparing for the
Mainland China market after the implementation of the Qualified Domestic
Institutional Investor ("QDII") scheme that facilitates the flow of investment
from Chinese investors to the Hong Kong market. The Company estimates that QDII
will be implemented in the third quarter of 2004. However, FTL cannot guarantee
that it will benefit from QDII or that it will be able to significantly expand
or that any expansion will enhance profitability. "
It looks like FTL could have all of China as a customer, streaming SMS stock data to all those cell phones for a few pennies a pop. THis is how the current internet providers are making cash.
I am happy to own about 1 tenth of one percent of this new company! (if it ever gets anywhere, that is)
