Your fantasies don't really make for effective conversation. All the major OEMs are specifically selling Pentium 4 x.xEGhz processors with 1MB cache, which are clearly Prescott parts. Even Pricewatch has plenty of skus available. I expect the Prescott cross-over to be some time next quarter, bringing Intel's costs well below AMD's. That's not counting the basic scale of economies, either. Intel's sheer volumes ensure that they have lower costs. It's R&D divided by units sold, and Intel sells roughly 5 times as many as AMD.
