Your fantasies don't really make for effective conversation.
The only prescotts to have shipped so far are slower than than older Northwoods and run much, much, hotter. If this is Prescott, it should simply be dropped. Intel could have saved itself $5 Billion in FAB re-tooling if what's shipping is prescott.
But I'm assuming that with another "spin of the silicon", installed in the new, rush re-designed motherboard/case/PS P4 platform, Prescott will be able to out-perform Northwood.
However, so far, prescott, in the sense that it's a step forward instead of a step backwards, isn't really out yet.
