Seems to me that as long as the shares are in street name that it would be hard for the company or the DTC to enforce any restrictions.

I am with TD OUTHOUSE in Canada & normally I get 1 letter per account NUMBER re any corporate action...I have a CDN margin a\c & a US margin a\c & the only difference is one a\c has an "e" & the other has an "f" at the end of it...I bot MXES in both a\c but only got 1 corporate action letter re the r\s...perhaps 1 letter got lost in the mail but this is the first time, I only received 1 letter for a corporate action where I have bot the same security in both a\c...

I think it's only a problem if you have more than one account with the same broker under the same SSN#. Like a normal account and a retirement IRA or something.
