re: Sure. It already announced these, codenamed Silverthorne.

No one ever said these were low performance parts... quite the contrary, I would think in the sense that they intend to redefine the market as it is...

Low Performance parts....Sure. It already announced these, codenamed Silverthorne.

That is again such a ridiculous and absurd statement !

I strongly recommend that you review the presentation material at the recent Fall IDF. The Silverstone chip is a dramatically smaller chip, and it dissipates mW of power as opposed to 10W+ of other products. The small physical size of the chip is also critical, for it designed to go into mobile handheld devices. There is no way that the reject Penryn chips can be sold as Silverstone.

Intel could sell low scrap Penryns for el cheapo Desktops and Laptops, but as I said earlier there is no evidence of that.

If your statement was true Intel will also be introducing an extremely large number of low performance parts.

Sure. It already announced these, codenamed Silverthorne.

Silverthorne is an Ultra Small Form Factor Die. Penryn is Small Form Factor. These are 2 Different Die designs, 2 different Packages.
