Amen on the SUV. The wife and I bought 2007 Highlander Limited for her and the baby. Great vehicle. I wanted a RAV 4 for the mileage, but she accidentally hit her head on the back seat roof of the door opening. Who hasn't done that on any vehicle. I then became obligated to buy the Highlander. We get about 18 -18.5 mpg on avg. Not bad, but nothing to brag about either. I honestly think my next vehicle is going to be a diesel. I am due for another car in 2-3 years so it will be interesting to see what comes out.
On the matter of high energy prices, I much say that I am for it only because it forces the alternative energy issue and those products the forefront. Longer term it's better for the country IMO. It would be nice if gas dropped down to $2.50 a gallon for a while.
