Not my best area, but having been around awhile I do have one observation. There will be a large consumer backlash just like we had in 1974.

people will switch to more economical cars, maybe solar panels will make a return to popularity, more focus will (again) be put on insulating old houses.

I've already seen coverage of stalled suv sales. They are a travesty anyway. Watch every one that goes by you on a highway, 90% + have only the driver in them and they are going 80.

If you have a wife and 2 kids and sports equip to carry etc,. they make sense. I know a DR here in N.E. who has one so she can always get to the hospital that makes sense but way too many of these were bought just cuz it was the 'in' thing to do.
