Aloha Toof,
Thanks again for taking the time with such a comprehensive reply. I think you're in the right line of work as a tax preparer with a good mind for numbers. I attended my first investor's group meeting this morning and posed the question about incorporating to the group. There were about 50 people in attendance and only one of them said he "USED TO" be incorporated as a business. Everyone else there are in it by definition as non-professionals, although a few do it full time. The guy who used to be incorporated stated that it was too much of a hassle and not worth it for the amount of money he was making with his investment business. So I'll be forgoing my reading of the two books I bought on incorporating and concentrate my efforts on continuing my education here and elsewhere. In the meantime, I'll also be reading the 100 page User's Guide to Automatic Investor and start preparing to pull the trigger at bargain prices. After the DOW went to 14,164 on Oct 9, it then turned around to Friday's close at 13,042 for a loss of 1,122 points or loss of 8% in exactly one month. It makes me wonder if what we're seeing is a big correction or perhaps even the beginning of a trend reversal in the general market. If we end up in the midst of a bear market for the next 11 plus months into the 2008 election, the Democrats are going to have a field day and we may end up, heaven forbid, becoming familiar with the term, "Madam President."
I might have to look into the solar panel thing because the cost of electricity here recently went up 10%. Don't ask me why because the only answer anyone ever seems to know about why the cost of living here in Hawaii continues to rise is "everthing here is expensive." By the way... How'd you all like the Super Ferry debacle???? And W.H.A.T. was Dog "The Bounty Hunter" Chapman THINKING.... and WHAT is wrong with his son for selling the tape recording to the National Enquirer ??? Both knuckleheads !!
Aloha for now --- Hook
