And no, he didn't help me at all. He just provided the resources and watched what we did to see how schools would learn to use this new technology. I was given an APL book and unlimited computer time and access and told to go to it. Sometimes I wasn't even two pages ahead of the students! But we all survived, and several of my students went very successfully into computers.
