Same story with my wife, After 3 weeks in a coma, she could only see half of the face of a clock, total left side neglect, 3 years later she's back teaching. Long hard road but it can be done.

Unfortunately, many doctors and nurses always recommend "pulling the plug" for patients with major illnesses. They pulled the plug on all my grandparents except my grandfather. I asked the doctor how my grandfather is doing and the doctor said my grandfather had a close to 0% chance of survival due to several complications and he recommended pulling the plug. I discussed it with my aunts and convince them to fight till the end and have the doctors do whatever it takes to save him. He ended up recovering and lived on for a few more years. He passed away at age 93. I always question myself if these doctors are doing it for the passion to help people, or for other reasons like money. Sadly, I think many of them are not doing it for the passion. I don't know if they just want the easy way out or are they telling the truth. I hear too many "pulling the plug is the best way to end the pain."
