Not only that, there was no Intel x86-64 manual or any other info. Why would they release a CPU (Prescott) with full x86-64 functionality with NO advance information to get developers on board? I am sure some crazy Linux distro would have arisen with IA-X86-64 capabilities way before Prescott was ready and that would have put pressure on MSFT to add the IA-X86-64 instructions to Windows 64-bit.
