Southern California is over 1500 homes shorter due to the fires:

In San Diego, Ron Lane, the county's director of emergency services, said Wednesday that at least 1,200 homes already had been destroyed in his area. That brings to 1,500 the number of homes destroyed in the seven-county region that has been ablaze since Sunday.

R,,,the emotional affect and smell of so much burned area may take longer than many may anticipate initially to start overcoming...

This may not be something to expect to start the housing market on the road to recovery and new building in swift fashion...

The catastrophe of so much burned area in California is hard to compare with a major hurricane event because it may take longer for anyone to assess the full long term affects...

One big question economically would be,,,have any of the import/export operations of the ports suffered any downtime from the smoke blowing out to sea?...And so forth...

Folks affected will surely need some support,imo...LJ
