Janice, why is it that you think every post is about you? LOL.
If you are talking hypothetical, as I was, I'd say a case where someone publishes a bash piece and gets it to a group of associates before publishing it so that they can front run might be considered "paid," particularly if there was some sort of informal arrangement for consideration.
Further, someone who is paid by a hedge fund to publish a bash piece, is "paid."
