Jim,

A premium of around 100% would be difficult for QCOM to justify to its shareholders unless they enter into a bidding war with Nokia.

I am not aware of any firm which was acuired at 100% premium recently. maybe you can help me with some instances.

IMO:It would provide Qualcomm with an Apple License & an Expanded RIMM license that they currently do not have,UMTS Licensing with Kyocera plus GSM/EDGE revenue streams.Perhaps Nokia & Samsung will contribute some money to Qualcomm to enrich their bid & rid themselves of IDCC 3G licensing...LOL!




If Q were to put in a bid for IDCC it would give the impression they need IDCC's IPR which would also give the impression they are a wounded duck. I don't think it's going to happen especially at the prices Jag Notes put out.
