I don't want to downplay this accomplishment, as it is great. But it will be a while before devices incorporating the breakthrough show up in the market.

The current implementation yields a frequency of 1 gigahertz and it will be required to increase the frequency to at least 10 gigahertz to be commercially viable. However, once this is accomplished, the results are broad and profound; from incredibly high performance (by today's standards) platforms to network bandwidth to applications such as vision recognition. Intel continues to focus R&D efforts far into the future, one reason my admittedly FA-biased investment style likes the firm.

This breakthrough really does not play directly into what Wave is trying to do (other than making the trusted computing process run faster, like any other application), thus my post label of "OT".
