Transaction Overview
Gemini Partners, Inc. announced today that, along with financial partners Clearview Partners and Plainfield Asset Management, it has completed the acquisition of Alena, LLC from Intermix Media, Inc., a subsidiary of News Corp’s (NYSE:NWS) Fox Interactive Media division. Gemini Partners served as placement agent and exclusive financial advisor to the acquirer and invested its own capital in the transaction.
Alena is a leading direct response marketer of branded consumer products on the internet. Alena utilizes proprietary technology and a team of direct response marketing experts and designers to bring its products and services directly to the consumer via the internet. The Company’s flagship product is a line of high-end dermaceuticals sold under the brand name Hydroderm, which has generated sales in excess of $100 million over the past three years. The Company also manages online marketing campaigns for client consumer product companies. The Company is based in Los Angeles, CA and has 85 employees.
