NVLS, KLIC and KLAC more terminal shorts are looking for a heart transplants but are not even good candidates to SURVIVE THOSE! Once these plays keep moving down after a gap 'n crap their survival is limited to a one to two day 'remission' before they can be reshorted. This might go on as late as last weeks in March. All of these were short / put plays for earnings and continue to do miserably. 15 puts for KLIC and 60 puts for KLAC were the last plays but target for KLAC was put at 55. STOCK SELECTOR'S MARKET
even when the market moves up the earnings plays that blew down continue down. NVLS probably should have rolled into the March puts, but as an intraday short on our terminal short list, you can always short a rally. I did cover a put play on NVLS during the Friday rally simply because it was doing that well, however SNDK was held. NVLS has been a superb peformer since the 45 and 40 puts were called. AT NO TIME DID WE GO LONG WHICH IS RATHER AMAZING.
PCLN exploding after hours! Here is a case where the hedge will have to carry the trade (we call at least 10 contracts in a hedge) but PCLN was up 3 sessions and kudos to that company we did lock in 75% of the trade which was ALL TO THE LONG SIDE) Now every point PCLN is up will be about a grand gain. We could have had nothing as PCLN was not called by any thread except "Winners Circle" in anticipation of the report, at least we'll have a nice gain. The good thing about options is that many folks probably sold off PCLN in a panic when it was 1.50 off the close, but we couldn't do anything but watch the denoument which was nice. We didn't really care which side would "win" as long as there was a significant move in one side and not a stagnation.
